Randi Rhodes suspended

Air America Radio does the right thing. This is in reference to the video posted below.

I don't agree with Rhodes' comments, but her suspension is a disturbing corporate attack on the free speech rights and civil liberties of us all. This contempt for freedom is so typical of the Bushes, the Clintons, and the corporations that have bought and paid for them.

Um, she was representing Air America. They pay her paycheck. She is free to say anything she wants, but Air America doesn't have to give her a microphone.

Have you read the First Amendment? Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Libhom- you might need to go re-learn how free speech works.

The government cannot censor you. They cannot throw you in jail for saying something against them.

However- since the beginning of the country private entities have free range to decide who they let use their resources while speaking publicly. Benjamin franklin was probably the first one to do it, he certainly didn't let people with Royalist views write in his newspapers.
